The Elves are an important part of Diablo Day Camp. The elves work closely with adult unit leaders to deliver camp program.  The Elf Program provides leadership experiences, fosters teamwork and communication skills that they will carry forward into all aspects of their life. Elves are wonderful role models for the campers and “elfing ” is FUN!

Most elves at Twin Canyon work in groups of two or three in camper units. Duties include helping campers prep for lunch by building and starting cooking fires as well as cooking lunch. Elves also lead campers in singing and games as well as escorting campers from activity to activity. Some Twin Canyon elves help in core program areas such as crafts, nature and archery or assist in the Hive.

Elves at Little Hills Ranch in San Ramon work in groups of two or three in program areas such as crafts, sports, games and nature. Some elves will be assigned to units helping lead campers from activity to activity.

  • Elves of adult volunteers working a session receive priority placement on a first come, first served basis.
  • Elves may register for one session only.
  • Elves at Diablo Day Camp must be at least 13 years old or currently in 7th grade or higher.
  • All Elves are required to attend and pass training. NO EXCEPTIONS. If you are unable to attend the training, do not apply to be an Elf.
  • Elves are expected to arrive at camp at least 30 minutes before the camp’s start time and stay up to 30 minutes after published end times (same as adult volunteers).

Elves who are not currently registered Girl Scouts will have to register through https://www.gsnorcal.org/en/about-girl-scouts/join.html  upon acceptance into camp.
