Make a Difference

WE APPRECIATE YOU

  • The Day Camp Staff is 100% volunteer. We are always looking for enthusiastic adults who like working with children, are willing to learn and love to play too!
  • We know that giving your time is challenging, but you will be making a meaningful difference for both the campers and your children.
  • You will be setting a great example of community service for your children to follow.

WE SUPPORT YOU

  • You are not alone. You are part of a team.
  • We provide free training and mentoring to make this your best week of the summer!
  • By committing to volunteer for a session of camp, your child is given priority in registration.
  • FYI, volunteers do not work directly with their own children.

BRING THE WHOLE FAMILY

  • There is a preschool “Tag” unit for the 3- to 5-year-old, potty-trained, children of related adult volunteers. Tags participate in all camp activities (except for archery).
  • There is also a Boy unit for elementary-school-age sons of adult volunteers. The boys participate in all the same camp activities, tailored to their interests. Camp staff enjoy peace of mind knowing their sons are having a quality camp experience too!

VOLUNTEER COMMITMENT

WE Count on YOU

  • Camper enrollment is based on staff enrollment.
  • Once you register, we count on you!
  • Unfortunately, should your plans change, your child and any other children associated with your application will have to be dropped from camp.
  • Camp sessions need consistent volunteers to be successful, therefore job-sharing is not allowed.

It may not be easy

  • DDC volunteers must commit to work all five full days of camp.
  • Volunteers are expected to arrive at least 30 minutes prior to camp and depart after all campers are picked up.
  • GSNorCal requires that all volunteers complete 18 hours of pre-camp training, a combination of virtual and in-person sessions.
  • Mark your calendar before you register!

BUT IT KEEPS OUR CAMP SAFE
